Jobs - Job Tasks
Job Tasks are used to break down the budget and costs of a job into manageable pieces. Some organisations may refer to these as Cost Codes or Cost Centres.
They have 3 main attributes:-
- Code - The Code can be up to 200 characters in length and can include punctuation and alphanumeric characters. Care should be take when defining the code to ensure that the way the code will sort makes sense to the observer. Using a typical numeric code for example, if the total number of code is to exceed 9 then single digit codes should be padded with a zero for example 01 or 02 so that once you exceed 10 codes, they continue to sort correctly.
- Description - The description explains what sort of costs are incurred under this task. The Code and description are combined to make the Job Task Name which is what generally appears in lists.
- Group Task - The Group Task is a Grouping component for grouping tasks together on reports and inquiry screens.
